I love you every hour of the day!

Love is in the air and so is the sweet smell of chocolate.

I made my hubby a "Valentines clock" for Valentines Day. Each number is a note with a message from me to him. He can only open a note when it comes to that hour of the day. The paper was cut using my Silhouette.

My little dude got this monkey card. I copied this idea straight off of the Silhouette blog. You can find the example here. The original lollipop was found and consumed earlier today. He enjoyed the magnetic letters as well.
I was surprised by this sweet Valentines card. I do love homemade Valentines cards especially from my boys.

Veggies on Valentines Day

While grocery shopping for our Valentines meal I asked my husband if he wanted any strawberries. "Nope," was his reply. So I stuck to the broccoli, radishes, and celery. Instead of chocolate covered strawberries we had chicken salad sandwiches and pasta salad. I love these dishes and they are easy to put together and you can always add or take away ingredients. Here are the basic recipes.

Chicken Salad

Chicken (4-5 chicken breasts diced)

celery

grapes or mix it up with some pomegranates

almonds or cashews or walnuts

avocado (add last to help prevent them from getting too smashed)

green onion or onion (optional)

sprinkle of rosemary

mayo (I like to add a spoonful at a time because I prefer less than too much)

Add as much or as little of each ingredient as you like to the mix and place in a roll or croissant.

Pasta Salad

Box of Rotini pasta

Bottle of Italian dressing (add to preference. I like a little less than half a bottle)

5 radishes

1/8 of a cup green onions (eyeball it)

can of kidney beans

black olives

cup of carrots

cup of broccoli

cup of grape or cherry tomatoes

(Almost any vegetable will work. This recipe can be changed every time you make it and it will always be yummy.

Easy and fun Valentines

I found this Valentine idea at the craft blog Made. You can find the print out and instructions here. I decided to make a few for my husband. I also made a Valentines book for him using Kodak Gallery. I used pictures of us through the years that were full of kisses and mushy gushy moments. A gift meant for Valentines Day.

Hearts are filled with candies. This is a fun valentine for kids because they get to rip open the hearts. Grown up boys (aka Husbands) might be amused too!
